Richard Seager Bursary Scheme
The Bursary was established in 2016, and is only available to graduating students of the Arts and Humanities Faculty at the University of Brighton.
The £500 Bursary may be used either for business start-up costs, or to gain further experience in their specialism.
Each year, Course Leaders at the University of Brighton will identify 5 students who will graduate that year, who they feel deserve recognition for their creativity in the arts, craft or design fields.
The decision regarding the recipient of the Bursary will be made by:
- a representative of the University
- Valerie Seager
- an additional representative nominated by Valerie Seager. For 2017, this will be Vikki Leedham, the Co-Curator and Gallery Manager of the Hannah Peschar Sculpture Garden.
In addition to the Bursary, the winner will be offered the opportunity of exhibiting a piece of their work either in the gardens or in the indoor display area at the Hannah Peschar Sculpture Garden.
Furniture & Cabinetmaking magazine will be showcasing the shortlisted candidates and the winner in a gallery-style feature.
